The Bengtson Center for Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery team is growing—and we’re looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant or Registered Nurse to join us in supporting our clinical and surgical patients. Located in our beautiful flagship facility at 2155 East Paris Ave in Grand Rapids, with our brand-new med spa location in Byron Center, our expert team—led by Drs. Bengtson, Alfonso, and Horriat—serves patients from across Michigan and beyond. We specialize in surgical and non-surgical aesthetic solutions designed to meet each patient’s unique goals.
We are continuing to expand and are seeking a caring, patient-focused MA or RN to support our surgical team. This role is essential in ensuring our patients feel prepared, confident, and informed throughout their surgical journey. You will assist by confirming upcoming procedures, answering pre- and post-operative questions, and serving as a knowledgeable and reassuring voice for patients.
About the Role
Position: Medical Assistant (MA) or Registered Nurse (RN)
Schedule: Full-time or part-time; 5 days per week, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (in-person)
This role primarily involves:
- Calling and confirming scheduled surgical procedures
- Communicating with patients about preparation details and expectations
- Answering pre- and post-operative questions
- Partnering closely with our clinical and surgical teams
- Ensuring every patient receives exceptional, clear, and compassionate care
The ideal candidate is warm, attentive, organized, efficient, and self-motivated. You should be able to work with a sense of urgency while staying patient-focused, empathetic, and supportive. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role serves as a primary point of contact for surgical patients.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Certified Medical Assistant OR Registered Nurse with a current Michigan license
- BLS certification required
- Experience in a clinical or surgical setting highly preferred
- Prior experience with patient education or pre/post-operative communication is a strong plus
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable with technology and electronic medical records
