Bengal is hiring night-shift Yard Dog Drivers to support a project in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. This position operates a yard dog to move trailers and haul pilings within the project site, working closely with loading crews and site personnel to keep materials moving safely and efficiently.

Position Details

• Pay: $35–$38 per hour, based on experience.

• Schedule: Six days per week, 12-hour night shifts.

• Expected project duration: Six to eight months, possibly longer.

• CDL: Preferred, but not required.

• Per diem: Not provided.

• Onboarding deadline: Must complete onboarding by November 14, 2026.

What You'll Do

• Operate a yard dog / terminal tractor to haul pilings and reposition trailers within the project site.

• Maneuver and position trailers safely in loading, unloading, and staging areas.

• Coordinate movements with loading crews, spotters, supervisors, and other site personnel.

• Confirm trailers and loads are ready for movement in coordination with the loading crew.

• Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and promptly report defects or maintenance needs.

• Follow site traffic controls, designated routes, speed limits, and safe operating procedures.

• Maintain awareness of pedestrians, equipment, changing ground conditions, and limited visibility during night operations.

• Keep the cab and assigned equipment clean and maintain required inspection or activity records.

• Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.

What You'll Bring

• A valid driver's license.

• Ability to safely operate and maneuver a yard dog and trailer in an active industrial work environment.

• Availability to work the required six-day schedule and 12-hour night shifts.

• Dependable attendance, clear communication, and the ability to follow directions.

• A strong commitment to safe equipment operation and teamwork.

• Availability to complete onboarding by November 14, 2026.

A CDL is preferred, but it is not required for this position.

Hiring Requirements

Work Environment

This is an on-site position at an active industrial project. Work takes place at night and may involve outdoor weather, noise, dust, uneven surfaces, and moving equipment. Duties include entering and exiting the vehicle, conducting equipment inspections, and coordinating with field crews. Required personal protective equipment and site safety procedures must be followed.
