JOB SUMMARY
The VP of Sales role is responsible for the leadership of all Sales personnel and the strategic value of all facets of the department. This includes developing the strategy of each year’s sales and marketing goals on plan/budget financials and making certain these goals are met, leading the team for development of new items, decision making/final approvals of all sales and marketing account planning, long term growth potential and planning, people development on the team and calling on the larger more robust accounts personally as the Sales representative.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with each sales team member daily to achieve the highest revenue and margin potentials for that position and for the company.
· Follow financials daily to make certain there are no issues. Calling meetings and making calls to team members to fix or inquire on the issues.
· Conduct a weekly meeting with each team member for updates and conversation both professional and personal, if necessary.
· Work with Sales Finance to determine accurate quotes for products sold then present for approval.
· Maintain ongoing communication with current and prospective customers/vendors.
· Maintain ongoing communication with internal team.
· Explore/Learn/Research Future Opportunities - Profitable growth management and learning to understand your business and competition.
· Conduct weekly sales meeting that will keep all team members on the plan/budget course for success.
· Challenging all members to fill sales voids by keeping their potential customers and item voids on a daily list to follow up on.
· Manage/Monitor topline sales to make certain business is trending to meet or exceed topline sales goal.
· Manage/Monitor bottom line P&L to make certain business is trending to meet gross margin sales goal.
· Strategize company positioning by reviewing strategies monthly and annually to make certain those that are in place are effective and growth driven.
· Develop the annual sales budget for all accounts utilizing the sales team for guidance on each contributing account.

· Excellent analytical skills to understand and report weekly sales data and the profit and loss statements for items offered.

· Excellent communication skills, written & oral to present to buyers within our customer base.
· Sense of urgency skills: Understands and focused on a “sense of urgency” on projects for launch in the branded and private label businesses. Quick response to customers and internal team members to strive for excellence and timely lead times requirements.
· Team work skills that include working well with a diverse group of both Beneficial Blends team members and customer contacts.
QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED
· Education: Bachelors Degree in Business or related field preferred
· Experience: Prefer 3 years in sales leadership position
· Experience in all channels of consumer packaged goods sales preferred including Grocery, Drug, Convenience, Mass and Alternate channels.
· Experience in negotiating and closing deals, required
· Experience in sourcing raw materials and negotiating on price, required
· Experience in commodity ingredient negotiations, required
· Experienced Leader and Motivator of 10 direct reports.
· Location: Tampa Bay area, preferred
· Computer knowledge/experience to include but not limited to: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and internal programs.
· Excellent organizational skills
Working conditions
· This position is an office based position with 20% travel to customers and for trade shows.
