What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Java Health Plans EDI Specialist position at Benecard Services Inc.?
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to assist us with the development and maintenance of our electronic data interfaces and CMS government reporting processes. The ideal candidate will possess experience working as a Java and SQL developer who can develop complex automated processes utilizing standard HIPAA formats and custom file requirements.
Must report on site 5 days a week
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & enhancement of multiple automated data interfaces using both standard HIPAA formats and custom data layouts for eligibility & claims processing
- Support the processes related to the submission of encounter data to contracted health plans
- Accurately monitor and reconcile submitted encounters against response files to ensure timely resolution of submission issues
- Development of processes to generate various data universes as required by CMS
- Develop customized reporting as requested by clients & internal users
- Troubleshoot Production issues
- Prepare documentation describing relevant applications & interfaces
- Provide off-hours support as required
Qualifications:
- Must have professional experience with standard HIPAA formats (837, 277, 835, 834, etc.)
- Must have hands-on experience designing, developing and maintaining API's.
- Must have experience with CMS, DHS reporting requirements & formats and encounter submissions is required.
- Must have experience with EDI translation software, experience with iWay software is a plus.
- Familiarity with managed care health programs and the insurance industry is required
- Must have a high level of competency in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and supporting production-quality Java applications.
- Must have professional experience including expert knowledge of Java, SQL, XML, SFTP, & JDBC required.
- Experience working with database systems such as DB2 and MySQL.
- Experience with MS Excel functions that includes working with large datasets and creating standardized reporting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
- Experience working in an AS/400 environment.
- Working knowledge of COBOL is a plus.
