Position Title: Product Testing and Compliance Coordinator
Bendon, Inc Background:
The Company, headquartered in Ashland Ohio, designs, creates, publishes, and distributes children’s licensed and non- licensed coloring and story books, toys, crafts, puzzles and related activity products. The Company’s portfolio of licensed products includes Disney, Nickelodeon, Sesame Street, and Hasbro, among others. Founded in 2001, Bendon sells to a variety of mass market, dollar store, grocery, and club retailers.
Job Summary: The product testing and compliance coordinator will serve as support staff to the purchasing team, reporting to the Product Testing and Compliance Manager, helping to guide vital parts of the business’ product testing requirements. This position will undergo training in the regulatory space with the Product Testing & Compliance Manager.
Job Duties:
- Determine if an item will require testing & create Test Request to utilize when submitting samples to the laboratories.
- Coordinate testing schedule, ensuring that supporting documentation for each test report is appropriately shared to the labs.
- Approve quotations for laboratory work based on a set price schedule.
- Review analytical data/lab reports, record specific data from the reports and relay pertinent, vital, information to the appropriate parties.
- Record test reports by order number and ensure all documentation for the order is stored appropriately.
- Create & share compliance documents in support of the sales and licensing teams.
- Process and approve invoices from laboratories for payment.
- Register items in WERCs (sharing SDS) with various retail companies upon request.
- Review product artwork and ensure proper labeling per regulations and order requests in support of the creative department.
- Perform data entry from various business reports into the Bendon database system and e-Filing platform.
- Assist with ongoing / new projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, familiar with the Office suite of Microsoft apps.
- Strong base/familiarity in laboratory technical terms preferred.
- Ability to work independently, while supported by senior staff.
- Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, time management is key.
- Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to communicate cross-culturally.
