Job Summary:

Inventory Coordinator Ensures all appropriate supplies and equipment are inventoried, received and distributed in accordance with proper practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Does not oversee other staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with departments, determine and update appropriate inventory par levels for stock and nonstock supplies
  • Inventory appropriate departments, which will in turn generate supply orders 
  • Deliver supplies and equipment in a neat, orderly manner
  • Receive and deliver all incoming supplies and equipment, ensuring accuracy of shipments, noting damage or shortages
  • Responsible for shipment of outgoing supplies, including returns with proper packaging and insurance
  • Route packing slips to appropriate personnel
  • Keeps the storeroom, staging and dock areas clean and orderly at all times
  • Establish and maintain a good professional rapport with the medical staff, administration, nursing personnel, staff for patient care areas, and members of all other departments and services
  • Monitors inventory levels and makes necessary adjustments
  • Identifies and resolves inventory discrepancies
  • Adheres to the appropriate and necessary fiduciary, ethical and professional tone of the corporate purchasing function, both intra and inter departmental
  • Adheres to safety policies and practices good body mechanics and ergonomics
  • Follows all rules and regulations for PHI and HIPAA protections of patient information
  • Follows all policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, attendance, timeliness, and safeguarding confidential information
  • Reports incidents in a timely manner
  • Promotes patient and employee safety and communicates concerns appropriately, following Chain of Command
  • Attends in-service programs as requested
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate suggestions and criticism objectively and undertakes responsibility of changing behavior or seeks further guidance as needed
  • Performs other related duties as directed

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of supplies and equipment.
  • Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to interact with a diverse population professionally. 
  • Must be detail oriented and have ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to process routine administrative paperwork and basic administrative tasks.

Education and Experience:

Previous experience in medical supply position preferred.

 Stated Salary is full salary range. Hiring salary cap is limited to mid-point of $25.67.
