Job Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides compassionate care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs assist clients in leading fulfilling lives by promoting independence, personal growth, and community integration in a safe and supportive environment.

The starting wage for this position is $22.00/hr.

Skills and Requirements

Our ideal candidates are detail oriented with an ability to think critically and show initiative. Additional requirements below:

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Holder of a valid Oregon states driver’s license

· Be 18 years of age or older

· Ability to pass a background/MVR check

Preferred Requirements:

· CPR/First Aid and AED certification

· Oregon Food Handlers Certification

· Oregon Intervention Services Certification

Physical Requirements

All applicants must be able to able to provide the following in terms of movement.

· Lifting 60 lbs. or more

· Fine motor movement in hands and fingers

· Large movements may be required, including but not limited to, reaching, crawling, lifting and twisting.

Key Responsibilities

· Directly supervising residents within the group home setting or in external program settings.

· Assist with activities of daily living. This includes but is not limited to:

§ Dressing

§ Grooming

§ Toilet assistance

§ Eating

§ Bathing

· Meal planning and preparation

· Medication administration, including diabetes management

· Personal goal support

· Transport of residents to varies outings and appointments

· Daily documentation and reporting

· Maintain the program environment with daily cleaning and organization

· Additional duties may be assigned as needed for program maintenance and integrity
