How You Will Make An Impact
- Prepare and maintain cost accounting records, including tracking labor and overhead, and allocate fixed and variable costs to ensure accurate product costing in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Perform monthly variance analysis across raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
- Prepare financial reports including margin analysis, product profitability assessments, and site-level performance insights; recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal controls within financial reporting and broader business operations.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning by building models, assessing profit and loss impacts, and delivering insights to leadership.
- Conduct financial and operational variance analysis, benchmark against historical results and forecasts, and provide actionable insights to guide decisions.
- Operating and capital investment opportunities using financial models and scenario planning; partner with cross-functional teams to assess profitability of products, services, and projects.
- Utilize ERP and financial data systems to ensure accurate reporting and transparency; build spreadsheets and dashboards to communicate results effectively.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure accurate cost allocation, provide decision support, and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Review and update cost accounting methods, financial processes, and planning practices; promote automation and best practices to improve accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity.
- Apply understanding of industry success factors to inform decision-making, maintain adaptability to support organizational change, pursue learning opportunities, and foster strong business relationships.
- Lead annual product cost updates, assess inventory and profitability impacts, and develop new product costing to support business proposals.
Education
- Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum Required: 3 or more years of progressive experience in Cost Accounting and/or Financial Analysis.
- Preferred: Experience in manufacturing, CDMO, or life sciences environment.
