Part-Time or Full-Time Veterinary Assistant

We are a mixed animal veterinary hospital seeking a highly motivated, hard-working, candidate with a positive attitude to fill our part-time or full-time Veterinary Assistant position. Experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred, but we are very happy to train the person that is eager and dedicated to learning.
Are you looking for flexible hours? Our full-time position is only 4 days per week. Our part-time position has the flexibility to adjust around school and home life. You can feel great at the end of each day that you are making a difference in the lives of so many animals and their families as well as making time for other priorities in your life.
Become a vital part of our animal healthcare team as a Veterinary Assistant.
Hours per Week: 20 - 40
Schedule: Weekdays, occasional Saturdays
Compensation: $19 - $20/hr DOE
Qualifications:
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent attendance record
- Professional business telephone manners
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Ability to lift and carry at least 40 lbs
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods; frequently working in a bent position
- Work well professionally with all levels of clinic teammates
- Ability to effectively multi-task during times of stress
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
- Punctual Attendance
- Independently initiate workflow processes
- Effectively communicate with clients regarding medical information about their animals
- Accurately process client payments
- Maintain cleanliness of the clinic and instruments
- Accurate and confidential record keeping
- Answer multi-line business phone calls
- Schedule appointments
- Other duties as assigned
Training to Include:
- Safe and proper restraint of animals even when large or difficult
- Perform Diagnostic Tests
- Radiology
- Patient & Customer Care
