The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration. It has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space spread out over the beautiful property, 9 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining), a luxury spa, and 7 pools including a 65' waterslide. Hotel Website, Instagram, Facebook What you will have an opportunity to do: McArthur's is named after the resort's architectural inspirations serving New American cuisine with hints of the Sonoran Desert delivering a creative fusion of meticulously sourced ingredients brought from farm to table in a menu of comforting delight.  The Cook II will be responsible for maintaining and setting up food production and quality control of all meat, fish, poultry, sauces, stocks, seasoning and all other food items prepared in the different kitchen stations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest. Visually inspect, select and use only food items ideal cooking, in preparation of all menu items. Maintain consistency and work as a team. Check and control the proper storage of product, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality. Keep all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with Health department regulations. Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production. Read and employ math skills to follow recipes. This is a full-time position, and you must have availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Hours are 2pm-10pm. Ability to work grill and Sautee with average of 150 covers per shift. What are we looking for? EDUCATION High School Diploma or equivalent Graduate of an Apprenticeship or accredited Culinary School, preferred EXPERIENCE At least two (2) years of cooking experience in a professional, fast-paced kitchen Prior hotel / resort experience, preferred Upscale / luxury dining experience, preferred LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES Maricopa County Food Handler Card ServSafe Food Handler Certification, preferred Compensation: - Pyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer.
