What you will have an opportunity to do: The Food & Beverage Server will be responsible for delivering warm, attentive, and professional service to guests at the Hotel's Restaurant establishment. This role involves taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages with flair, utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience and revenue whilst maintaining impeccable cleanliness, organization, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and liquor regulations in a luxury hospitality environment. Primary responsibilities for the Food & Beverage Server role include but not limited to the following: Greeting all guests and owners warmly with welcome greeting. Take orders for and serve all food and beverage requests, using suggestive selling techniques. Comply with all food and beverage regulations. Assess guests’ preferences and make recommendations. Prepare tables, by laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks. Staying updated with current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items...etc. Handle table bookings, direct guests to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist with drink selection, informing guests about food preparation details, communicate specific customer needs to the cooks. Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling guests’ needs, offering desserts and drinks, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses etc. Properly open and pour wine at the tableside. Perform general cleaning tasks utilizing cleaning products whilst adhering to health and safety standards. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs. What are we looking for? Minimum 3-4 years of experience as a Food & Beverage Server in a Hotel Restaurant setting required. Sommelier Certificate or equivalent preferred. Strong Micros Point of Sale systems proficiency required. Strong knowledge of appropriate table settings and food presentation. In-depth understanding of menu items, preparation methods, and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverage offerings. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required. Excellent upselling skills, exceptional attention to detail and exceptional communication skills. Knowledge of a second language will be considered a plus. Excellent capability of anticipating guests’ needs and fulfilling them appropriately. Able to multitask effectively and maintain patience under stressful circumstances. Profound understanding of setting tables with appropriate cutlery preferred. Knowledge of different glasses used for different beverages required. Must be able to take and deliver instructions with accuracy. Must be proficient in maintaining a clean and sanitized work area. Adept at using suggestive selling practices with the utmost of subtlety Must be flexible to work all required shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
