What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Benchmark Search?
We’re a fast-growing manufacturers’ representative firm looking for a Project Accountant to own job costing, billing, WIP, and financial tracking across multiple projects. If you thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and love partnering with PMs to keep jobs financially on this is for you.
What You’ll Do:
- Set up jobs, budgets, and cost codes
- Track job costs, POs, committed costs & budget-to-actuals
- Handle progress billings, retainage & customer portal uploads
- Support WIP, earned revenue & month-end close
- Partner with PMs on cost-to-complete & margin tracking
- Maintain lien waivers, contracts, W-9s & compliance docs
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years in project or construction accounting
- Job costing WIP experience
- Solid Excel (lookups, pivots)
- Strong organization communication skills
