Overview:
We are currently seeking a Barrel and Press Tender to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, precision measuring instruments, and familiarity with maple syrup. This role offers an opportunity to work with various equipment and tools in a dynamic environment. This is a self managing position and keeping the rooms organized and clean would be your responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Load and Unload barrels from trailer trucks *Use of a barrel dolly required
- Clean and steam 40 and 55 gallon stainless steel drums
- Clean Filter Presses for Maple Syrup
- Clean 600 gallon silo tanks and filter presses as needed
- Checking density and performing quality checks on syrup before bottling
- Moving barrels and sorting inventory
-Filling bulk syrup orders
-Must be quick at learning since this person is responsible for switching lines and opening and closing many valves that lead into the bottling room for packaging.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting is REQUIRED
- Must be able to operate a barrel dolly- (Will train right candidate)
- Must be able to lift 65 pounds consecutively
(This is a physically demanding job)
- Must be able to operate a pallet jack and electric pallet jack
-Must be able to operate a barrel stacker
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one
Position is full time Monday-Friday- 8:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m
