Our office is expanding and we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves connecting with patients, educating them, and making them feel safe and cared for. This role is essential in promoting oral health and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional patient care.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth.
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking medical histories and vital signs.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Utilize medical imaging techniques to capture diagnostic images of patients' teeth and gums.
- Implement aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Stay informed about medical terminology relevant to dentistry and apply it in patient interactions.
- Work collaboratively with the dental team, particularly in pediatric dentistry, to provide specialized care for children.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Experience in a dental office setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control practices.
- Experience or interest in pediatrics and pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Ability to work well within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
