Ben Davis is seeking a student-centered leader to serve as our Head Football Coach. The successful candidate will foster a culture of academic integrity, discipline, and athletic achievement, while demonstrating excellence in teaching, leadership, and program management. This individual will lead all aspects of the football program, emphasizing player development, staff collaboration, and community involvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, organize, and oversee all phases of the football program (Varsity, JV, and Freshman).
- Promote academic accountability, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes.
- Mentor and develop assistant coaches while maintaining high expectations for professionalism and teamwork.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with youth and middle school programs to ensure long-term program alignment.
- Support and promote the school’s Strength and Conditioning program in coordination with the Strength and Conditioning Coach.
- Maintain compliance with all IHSAA and school policies and procedures.
- Represent Ben Davis High School with integrity and pride in all community and media interactions.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success as a head or assistant football coach, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid teaching license
- Proven commitment to student-athlete academic achievement and character development.
Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to build a cohesive football program rooted in accountability, teamwork, and discipline.
- Proven success in developing coaching staff and fostering positive relationships with players, parents, and the community.
- Experience aligning and integrating strength and conditioning principles into year-round athletic development.
- Effective communication and collaboration with administration, faculty, and support staff.
- Experience leading programs that reflect the values, traditions, and expectations of a high-performing high school athletic department.
