Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable, diligent, and adaptable Lot Porter / Shop Assistant to join our team. In this role, you won't just be doing one repetitive task; you will be the backbone of our daily operations. This position requires an open-minded, "can-do" attitude, a strong commitment to team collaboration, and a dedication to showcasing our collision center's premium craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Detailing and Prep: Deliver thorough cleaning, washing, and interior detailing of vehicles. Meticulously clean both interiors and exteriors to ensure adherence to our high quality standards.
- Parts Pickup and Errands: Safely operate the company van to pick up parts from dealerships, vendors, and suppliers.
- Customer Shuttle: Represent our brand well through a professional, clean appearance and good hygiene, appropriate professional conversations while driving customers back and forth when needed.
- Lot Organization: Keep the collision center lot safe and organized by moving vehicles efficiently and carefully to maximize space for incoming and outgoing work.
- Facility Maintenance: Keep our lot and shop looking pristine by picking up trash, emptying bins, sweeping, and maintaining a professional environment.
- Flexible Team Support: Exhibit a collaborative spirit, contributing to a positive team dynamic and shop culture by assisting technicians, estimators, and office staff wherever needed.
· Reliability and Punctuality: Daily operations rely heavily on this role; when you are absent or late, it impacts the entire team. We need a dependable individual who maintains excellent daily attendance, arrives on time, and schedules personal time off well in advance. You not only “can” do this, but you have in your last job, and you have a reference that would attest to that.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Open-Minded and Adaptable: Strong willingness to switch tasks frequently based on changing shop priorities rather than insisting on doing only one job. If you do not like filling in where you are needed in the team that day, this is not the job for you.
- Driving Record and Insurance: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and a clean driving record to be fully insurable on our company van.
- Preferred Experience: Previous experience in buffing and detailing within a commercial car wash or auto collision environment is highly regarded.
- Automotive Cleaning Proficiency: Solid knowledge of various automotive cleaning products, equipment, and detailing techniques.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of standing and reaching for extended periods, working outdoors, and lifting heavy items as required.
- Footwear Compliance: Must wear slip-resistant and water-resistant footwear and safety glasses while on duty to ensure workplace safety.
- Required Documentation: Possession of a valid Social Security Card (or equivalent proof of ability to legally work in the United States) is mandatory; candidates must successfully pass a background check.
