What You'll Be Working With
At Bemsco, you'll have the opportunity to machine complex aerospace components using industry-leading equipment, including:
- Mazak CNC Machining Centers
- DMG MORI CNC Machining Centers
- Vertical and Horizontal CNC Mills
- Multi-axis machining equipment
- Large machining capabilities with up to 120 inches of X-axis travel
- Precision inspection equipment, including Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
Our work ranges from prototype development to low-volume and full-rate production of precision aerospace and defense components.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Manufacture precision aerospace components to exact specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Perform complete machine setups, tool changes, and program adjustments.
- Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding methods.
- Machine parts to extremely tight tolerances.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Work closely with Engineering, Programming, and Quality to improve manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all AS9100 quality procedures and company safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience.
- Ability to independently set up and operate CNC machining centers.
- Strong blueprint reading skills.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience using precision inspection equipment.
- Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining practices.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other aerospace alloys.
- Experience with Mazak or DMG MORI machines.
- Multi-axis machining experience.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as JobBOSS.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Experience working within an AS9100 quality system.
