Job Summary: The Aviation Operations Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate gathering, documenting, and dissemination of information to company leadership, staff, and pilots as well as providing exceptional service to general aviation FBO customers.

Essential Functions:

· Flight Follower for Bemidji Aviation flights: includes communications with pilots, ATC, weather briefings, and flight monitoring.

· Accurately and succinctly gather, transfer, and/or disseminate information in a timely manner through proper channels including forwarding staff calls, radio communications, and message delivery.

· Assist maintenance personnel in monitoring of regulatory compliance items and scheduling of aircraft.

· Accurate and timely data entry for utilization by maintenance, operations, and pilots including daily entry of hobbs times and locations of Bemidji Aviation aircraft in MS access database and excel spreadsheets.

· Accurate and timely data entry of information relating to fuel sales, plane rentals and flight instruction.

· Provide exceptional customer service and support to FBO customers through coordination with line staff to assure these needs are met in a timely manner. Customer requests may include fuel orders, use of courtesy car, assistance with overnight accommodations in the Bemidji area, etc.

· Answer phones and transfer calls appropriately.

· Utilize MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Power Point software, and internet searches.

· Process transactions over point-of-sale system for the purchase of pilot supplies, Bemidji Aviation apparel, flight instruction, plane rentals, and aviation fuel.

· Communicate instructions and information to pilots landing at Bemidji Regional Airport over Unicom and Company frequency.

· Assist in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment (take out trash, clean/refill coffee pots, fill vending machines, water plants, etc.)

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Aviation Operations Specialist Job Qualifications:

Competencies and Knowledge: The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the following: approachability; time and performance management; strong organizational skills; problem solving; communication skills (verbal and written, especially with customers); ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment; ability to interact with all levels of FBO personnel, GA and Commercial customers, vendors and outside regulatory agencies; professional aptitude; ability to manage multiple projects at one time with time sensitive deadlines and adaptability in an aggressive growth environment.

Work Environment: This job operates approximately 95% of the time inside a climate-controlled building and approximately 5% of the time outside in all types of weather. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines, filing cabinets, line GSE, fuel trucks, and some hangar equipment.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; bend/stoop; occasionally push/pull and lift weight up to 45 lbs.; use hands to grasp, finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. On rare occasions may be required to crawl, use fine manipulations, kneeling, and repetitive motion.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a part-time position with an expectation of evening and weekend hours as job duties demand. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required.
