An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a highly-skilled,
motivated Regulatory Affairs Assistant to join our Miami, Florida based team.
Job Summary
Successful candidates in this role will provide support for the
company’s regulatory and safety needs.
You will be responsible for the local implementation, management
and adherence to the company’s corporate safety programs, policies and
procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining standards and
functions to reduce and prevent employee injuries, accidents and occupational
illnesses, as well as reducing the environmental aspects and impacts associated
with the company’s operations.
The position will also be responsible for purchasing safety supplies
and other essentials.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange annual fire alarm and sprinkler
inspections with ADT. Arrange annual fire extinguisher inspection with third
party provider.
- Other inspections – storm water permit
inspection, annual Miami-Dade fire inspection, DERM inspection, emergency
eyewash and shower inspection.
- Perform or arrange respirator fit tests and
training for new employees and annual fit tests and training for all employees
using a respirator.
- ITS safety training.
- Generate and update product labels as needed.
- Generate TSCA Import Certificate form as
requested by customer service for shipments coming from company’s UK office.
- Generate workplace labels for new raw materials.
- Generate and file workplace safety data
sheets.
- Provide regulatory information to UK office as
requested including REACH registration and inventory list status for raw
materials. Calculate quantities of raw materials imported into the UK, determine what exceeds the REACH 1 ton limit, and get information to vendors so they can cover us under their registrations if they provide that service.
Provide commodity codes for products.
- Fire Marshal – conduct monthly inspections.
- Spill Team Member – refill spill kits.
- Purchasing of safety committee items, and PPE.
Requirements
Required
- 1-5 years’ experience in similar field, preferably in manufacturing, chemical or safety industry.
- Self-starter who can effectively evaluate situations, and take independent action to expedite the resolution of open issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication
skills. Fluency in the English language is essential.
Desired
- A degree is not essential for this role,
however, qualifications in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Environmental,
Health & Safety (EHS) or related fields would be a bonus.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
- Fluent in Spanish language.
