R&D Engineer

We are seeking a creative and technically-inclined R&D Engineer to play a vital role in our Timing Belt production operations. 

Job Summary 

The R&D Engineer will be responsible for interpreting the customer's need and designing equipment, tooling, and materials to deliver Timing Belt product. This role requires a creative problem solver with strong leadership and communication skills. Responsibilities 

• Understand timing belt application and mechanical drawings to deliver equipment, tooling, and material design. Effectively communicate plans to machine shop and production.
• Identify process improvement projects and engineer solutions.
• Design production equipment, tooling, and processes in partnership with production.
• Support Production with an interactive, hands-on approach.
• Manage projects throughout their lifecycles.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture with emphasis on safety, automation, and best in the industry solutions and technology.
• Support Lean implementation by working with production employees and managers on all levels.

Requirements 

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience or ability to learn Chemical Engineering.
• 3 years of experience in production support.
• 3 years of experience in Mechatronic Design and 3D modelling. Solidworks experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities 

• Project Management, problem solver, creative thinker, self-motivated.
• Effective communication, both written and verbal, with customers, sales, and production.
• Belting knowledge not required, but a plus.
• Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
