Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain underground and surface mining equipment, including Vulcanizing, Scrapes and conveyor systems to ensure continuous production.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on conveyor belts, vulcanizing equipment, and industrial machinery to prevent downtime.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting, material movement, and installation of conveyor components following safety protocols.
- Assist with installation, repair, and replacement of conveyor belts using vulcanizing techniques to ensure durability and safety.
- Follow all safety standards in production environments by wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adhering to OSHA regulations, and practicing safe manual handling procedures.
- Support drilling operations by setting up and operating machine drills for underground or surface mining projects.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly, minimizing operational disruptions.
Requirements
- Prior experience in mining or extraction environments is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level applicants; training will be provided.
- Mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment such as drilling machines, conveyor systems, or heavy machinery is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while maintaining awareness of safety regulations.
- Outdoor work experience is highly valued due to the nature of the job environment.
- Familiarity with safety standards including OSHA guidelines and proper use of PPE is essential.
- Construction site experience or working with underground mining equipment operation is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or experience operating forklifts, water trucks, excavators, or tankers is beneficial but not required.
