Job Summary

BeLoved With You is looking for compassionate individuals to join our team as a Private Duty Caregiver. As a Private Duty Caregiver, you will provide essential assistance and support to individuals in their home, ensuring their well-being and comfort.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and more as needed.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and caring environment.
  • Help clients with mobility, transferring, and ambulation as needed.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse.
  • Administer medication and assist with medical equipment as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the client’s home.
  • Assumes responsibility for on-going personal development and continuing education.
  • Creates opportunities for new referrals and referral relationships when representing the company in the community.
  • Supports the philosophy, objectives, and mission of BeLoved With You.
  • Maintains professional competency and licensure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Physical/Safety Requirements:

  • Must have the strength and endurance required for standing, walking, lifting, bending and pushing consistently greater than 50 lbs.
  • Utilize appropriate durable medical equipment as needed in a safe manner
  • Use appropriate body mechanics for caregiver duties as identified in the scope of practice
  • Category 1 for potential exposure to blood/body fluids. (Requires the performance of procedures or other tasks in the work routine that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or a potential for spills or splashes of them. Protective measures should be used while engaged in Category 1 tasks with exposure potential.)
  • Utilizes appropriate PPE as needed.
  • Follow the designated plan of action in the event of a fire or other emergency.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, work- related stresses, and driving hazards. The individual may be required to drive to meetings with clients or healthcare professionals. The individual may be required to drive to the client’s homes. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
  • Utilize appropriate basic office equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; further education in healthcare is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or in a similar role preferred.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid (or willing to obtain within 2 weeks).
  • Current Food Handler Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain auto insurance.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of background check pursuant to ORS 181A.195.
  • Read, write and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to handle frequent interruptions, problem solve, and have exceptional follow-through skills.
  • Must be able to cope with emotionally charged situations encompassing patients, families, caregivers, and team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
