ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Overnight Porter at Belmont Village Senior Living, you will perform multi-functional duties related to the overall cleanliness of the community's interior and exterior common areas and will take an active role in promoting community safety. The Porter is an overnight position and is responsible for ensuring an exceptional first impression of the community parking area and main entry. The ideal candidate is reliable, takes pride in their work, and demonstrates good judgement and problem-solving skills. Belmont Village Porters excel in an active position, collaborate effectively with others, and take initiative while prioritizing exceptional hospitality and helping seniors thrive as they age.
YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform cleaning of the community common areas to ensure compliance with Belmont Village cleanliness standards
Ensure common area restrooms and laundry rooms are adequately supplied with toilet paper, hand towels, hand soap, laundry detergent, and other items as necessary
Pick up and properly dispose of exterior trash, remove waste, replace trash can liners
Communicates respectfully and professionally with residents and guests
Uses sound judgement when responding to visitors arriving after stated visiting hours
Make hourly rounds to confirm the community's exterior doors, and other points of entry into the community are locked
Report unusual occurrences, suspicious situations or persons to the Manager on Duty and take appropriate action as deemed necessary by community protocol
Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Housekeeper, Janitor or Porter
Ability to organize and prioritize work independently and efficiently
Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
Ability to work early morning, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
