Job Description:
Accountable for all aspects of the Quality Management System for Belmont Engineered Plastics. Provides leadership to the Quality and Business teams to ensure that BEP's products meet customer requirements and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include achieving quality certifications such as IATF and oversight of product testing, warranties, and operational compliance. Manages all customer concerns, complaints, and the corrective action processes. Position requires close coordination with engineering, production, and customer service teams to uphold and continuously improve the product and customers' experience.
- Lead and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with IATF, ISO, CSA, ANSI, and other relevant industry standards.
- Authorized to stop production or stop shipment of product as needed. Responsible for accepting or rejecting both FG and WIP products.
- Manage the full cycle of IATF certification including audits, non-conformance resolutions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
- Technical expert to provide judgment on all aspects of the quality system and products. Responsible for successful completion of annual internal audits and IATF certification and other regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and maintain operations of the in-house CSA and ANSI certification testing laboratory and part testing process.
- Develop, audit, and improve quality procedures, control plans, inspection instructions, and documentation.
- Lead internal and external quality audits and coordinate customer audits and third-party certification assessments.
- Interact with customers and analyze quality data (e.g., non-conformances, scrap, customer returns) and use root cause analysis tools to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Interface directly with customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies regarding quality issues, certifications, and compliance matters.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring team members on quality standards, inspection methods, and compliance practices. Retain a basic knowledge of all BEP products and quality requirements from each customer.
- Oversee the calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as PDCA, 8D, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and SPC.
- Promote the perpetuation of a business-focused, result-oriented, technical culture within the facility.
- Work closely with plant leadership to obtain alignment on tactics and priorities that will drive business success.
- Maintain compliance with the company's purpose, vision, policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949, CSA, ANSI, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong understanding of automotive quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
- Experience with root cause analysis techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in quality management software and Microsoft Office.
- History of success through collaborative projects/teams, and positive participation in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Lead Auditor (IATF or ISO), or equivalent certifications.
- Experience managing certification testing labs and compliance programs.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance for safety products and consumer goods.
- Injection molding and plastics processing experience.
