What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nurse - BES position at Belmont Elementary School?
Belmont Elementary School is seeking a School Nurse who will strengthen and facilitate the educational process by modifying or removing health-related barriers to learning in individual students and by promoting an optimal level of wellness for students and staff.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Apply nursing theory and nursing process in decision making and implementation of nursing practice.
2. Establish and maintain a school health office.
3. Develop Individual Health Plans and Emergency Health Plans for students.
4. Provide nursing care and interventions to the student population.
5. Collaborate with other school and community professionals.
6. Assume responsibility for continuing education and professional development and contribute to the professional growth of colleagues.
7. Continue to advance school nursing practice through innovation in theory and practice and participation in research.
QUALIFICATIONS/RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS:
- Have license to practice as a registered, professional nurse in New Hampshire.
- Have a minimum of three years nursing experience in discipline related to child health within the last five years.
- Have a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in nursing or its equivalent.
- School Nurse Certification through the NH DOE
