Position Summary
Belmont County Tourism Council is seeking a creative, organized, and results-driven Digital Marketing Specialist to lead and execute digital marketing efforts that promote Belmont County as a travel destination. This role is responsible for managing social media channels, digital advertising, website content, email marketing, and online brand presence while helping increase visitor awareness and engagement.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in current digital marketing trends, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to create compelling content while analyzing campaign performance. This individual should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about promoting Belmont County through innovative digital strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing:
- Plan, develop, and execute digital marketing campaigns across multiple online platforms
- Manage paid digital advertising campaigns, including budgeting, scheduling, and performance tracking
- Monitor trends, audience behavior, and new opportunities to grow online reach and engagement
- Evaluate campaign effectiveness and provide regular performance reports and recommendations
Social Media Management:
- Maintain an active and engaging presence across all social media platforms
- Create written, graphic, and video content tailored to each platform and audience
- Monitor messages, comments, and audience engagement in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with social media coverage during events and community initiatives
Website & Email Marketing:
- Update and maintain website content through content management systems
- Apply SEO/SEM best practices to improve visibility and traffic
- Create and distribute HTML email campaigns, newsletters, and promotional blasts
- Maintain digital databases and audience contact lists as needed
Branding & Creative Support:
- Ensure consistency of brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all digital platforms
- Assist with creation of graphics, promotional materials, and other digital assets
- Proofread and review marketing materials for quality, accuracy, and professionalism
Collaboration & Community Engagement:
- Work closely with staff, tourism partners, attractions, event organizers, and community stakeholders
- Attend and assist with tourism events, promotions, and public outreach as needed
- Support broader tourism development efforts through marketing initiatives and special projects
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and online advertising
- Experience with website content management systems and email marketing platforms
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects
- Creative thinking and problem-solving ability
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience in tourism, hospitality, destination marketing, or economic development
- Experience with website analytics tools, SEO/SEM strategy, and campaign reporting
- Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with branding standards
- Photography, video editing, or content production experience
This position is part of the Belmont County Tourism Council staff and contributes to the broader mission of promoting Belmont County as a visitor destination and supporting tourism growth.
While the primary responsibility is digital marketing and communications, the Digital Marketing Specialist may occasionally assist with tourism-related programs, events, visitor services, and special initiatives at the discretion of the Executive Director.
