Position Summary
Belmont Abbey College seeks a Director of Stewardship.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Development, the Director of Stewardship will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive, college-wide stewardship program focused on donor retention, satisfaction, and engagement; including, managing the timely processing and acknowledgement of all gifts, pledges, pledge payments, matching gifts, memorial and tribute gifts, stock donations, gifts-in-kind, and other contributions. They will work directly with donors by creating acknowledgment letters, pledge billings, and responding to donor calls and emails. They will be sufficiently knowledgeable about our donor database as well as credit card processing, prospect research systems, and marketing tools. Furthermore, they will be responsible for custom-tailored annual fund gift campaigns and stewardship campaigns throughout the year.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses maturity, a hospitable personality, punctuality, dependability, and accuracy. The candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and able to pay attention to every detail. The incumbent must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. The incumbent must present a positive attitude reflecting the mission of Belmont Abbey College while providing high levels of service. The incumbent must be well organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and work well as part of a team while meeting deadlines in a professional manner. Being detail-oriented and punctual is essential to this role. The incumbent must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree; experience in visual arts a plus. Experience in project management, budgeting, and database management is desirable. The work environment is a general office setting with limited strenuous physical demands – able to move boxes up to 30 lbs. Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office at Belmont Abbey College.
In addition, candidates must wholeheartedly embrace the mission of the College to educate students in the liberal arts and sciences so that in all things God may be glorified. The incumbent will consistently demonstrate skills, attitudes, and stable disposition of character to support our Catholic and Benedictine identity while fostering the development of mind, body, and spirit in our students, our staff and the greater community.
