Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation by following recipes and adhering to portion controls to ensure consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces to meet health and safety standards.
- Support meal assembly and presentation for various dining services or catering events.
- Follow food safety protocols for handling, storage, and sanitation to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, share updates on ingredient availability, and optimize workflow.
- Contribute to menu planning by providing input on ingredient needs and assisting with special dietary accommodations when required.
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or catering environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of food industry standards including safety management, recipe adherence, and proper food handling techniques.
- Skills in knife work, slicing techniques, and general culinary preparation are beneficial.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently is essential.
