Position SummaryBellows Systems is seeking a skilled Resistance Welding Technician to support the manufacture of high-precision metal components used across a variety of industrial and engineered applications. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining resistance welding equipment to produce consistent, high-quality welded assemblies that meet customer, industry, and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with resistance welding processes, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and adjust resistance welding equipment (spot, seam, projection, or related processes)
- Perform welds on thin-gauge and precision metal components according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications
- Inspect weld quality using visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspection techniques
- Troubleshoot welding issues such as inconsistent welds, electrode wear, misalignment, or heat imbalance
- Perform routine maintenance on welding machines, electrodes, and fixtures
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support new schedule development, qualification, and process improvements
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and documented production processes
- Accurately complete production, inspection, and maintenance documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to weld quality, efficiency, and scrap reduction
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred
- Experience welding stainless steel, nickel alloys, or other precision metals preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Strong understanding of welding fundamentals, heat control, and weld quality standards
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a production environment
- 2 years of hands-on experience as a resistance welding technician or similar manufacturing role
- Experience with precision or custom-manufactured components
- Familiarity with aerospace, industrial, energy, or engineered products industries
- Experience supporting prototype or low-to-medium volume production
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as required
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for working with small or delicate components
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and machinery
