Position Summary: The Attendance Secretary maintains accurate student attendance records and supports the daily operation of the school office. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, ensuring compliance with school security sign-in procedures, managing attendance data and records for staff and students, responding to attendance inquiries, and preparing related reports and correspondence. The role also supports administrative communication, maintains confidentiality, and helps promote a safe, organized, and welcoming school environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher preferred. Minimum of two years related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exhibit high standards of ethical behavior when handling student, staff, and parent information
- Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly and manage difficult or emotionally charged interactions professionally
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, organize work effectively, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency, including Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and student information systems
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and openness to differing perspectives.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee will occasionally be required to stand, walk, bend and reach. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 15 pounds. Manual dexterity is required to finger, handle or grasp objects. Must be able to hear, talk and see.
