Duties
- Operate a variety of commercial vehicles including box trucks, flatbeds, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers to transport goods, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Drive shuttle vehicles, school buses, or paratransit vans to move personnel or clients between locations while maintaining safety protocols.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual methods, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of freight.
- Assist with moving heavy equipment or materials within job sites or warehouses while following safety guidelines.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic mechanical checks to ensure optimal performance of all assigned vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients in both English and Spanish to coordinate deliveries, pickups, or site activities.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, inspection reports, and incident documentation as required.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving including route driving, freight delivery, shuttle driving, or bus driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for the vehicle type.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance checks and minor repairs; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles such as tractor-trailers or dump trucks confidently.
- Experience with warehouse operations including load & unload procedures using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish to facilitate clear coordination across diverse teams.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy haul, heavy equipment operation, tanker trucks, tow trucks, or yard jockey duties.
- Ability to work physically demanding shifts involving moving heavy loads and operating various commercial vehicles safely.
