Role Description
We are seeking a growth-driven Employee Benefits Producer to develop new business and expand our presence in the 10–50 life employer market.
This is a production-focused role for a self-starter who is motivated by ownership, autonomy, and revenue generation. The Producer will be responsible for prospecting, closing new business, and strategically expanding client relationships, while leveraging our internal service and advisory team for implementation and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Actively solicit, develop, and close new benefits business, with a focus on group medical, dental, vision, life & AD&D, disability, ancillary insurances, and retirement plans.
- Expected to generate $80,000 in new revenue in our target market of companies 10 – 50 employee lives.
- Use Bellingrath’s resources to research and develop customized messaging for prospects.
- Understand and explain Bellingrath's competitive differentiation to clients and prospects.
- Develop a sales business plan and use effective prospecting strategies to overcome sales obstacles on a product-specific basis.
- Build & maintain accurate client and prospect pipelines to include development of cross-selling strategies for existing clients.
- Participate in industry training and sales support programs.
- Attend networking events and seminars and represent the firm positively within the business community.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge necessary to communicate our solutions to a non-insurance buyer.
- Stay informed on market trends and successfully develop and deploy sales and marketing strategies along with ongoing communications to optimize Bellingrath’s position in the marketplace.
Requirements & Skills Include
- Minimum 2 years of successful employee benefits sales experience.
- Active Life & Health Insurance License.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
- Experience using Salesforce or comparable CRM.
- Excellent communication, negotation, and presentation skills.
- Personable, highly-motivated, goal-oriented and driven to achieve individual sales goals.
- Strong technical knowledge of employee benefits: medical, dental, vision, life & AD&D, disability, ancillary insurances, and retirement plans.
- Consultative, positive, and resourceful approach to working with prospects, clients, and associates.
- Excellent listening skills with strong customer focus.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal oversight.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
