Title: Day to Day Custodian Substitute
FUNCTION: Day to day substitute, responsible to the Senior Custodian and works in liaison
with the building principal and Director of Maintenance for providing services,
which will afford students a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient
place in which to learn, plan and develop.
Day to Day Assignment as Needed (Locations Vary)
DUTIES:
- Responsible for all general cleaning and maintenance of his job.
- Performs cleaning services as necessary.
- Assists in snow removal, as needed.
- Cleans and maintains all tools and equipment.
- Assumes responsibility for general security of the building.
- Follows a work schedule assigned by the Director of Maintenance, Building Principal and/or Senior Custodian.
- Daily: Sweep floors, empty waste paper baskets, dust ledges, windowsills, bookcases, clean glass partitions, sinks and lavatories.
- Washes, waxes and seals floors according to prescribed procedures and schedules.
- Performs other general related tasks as may be assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
- Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
- Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
- Demonstrates aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks.
- Must demonstrate neatness in appearance and work.
- Good moral character.
- Must be physically able to perform tasks which at times may require lifting and carrying of
materials weighing as much as fifty (50) pounds or more.
