The Role
We are looking for a pleasant but firm, detail oriented, energetic, and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. Most of our patients are older adults managing chronic pain, so we need someone who is calm, warm, and steady under pressure while still being efficient and accurate in a high volume environment.
Skills Required
- Compassionate and professional demeanor with the ability to remain pleasant yet firm when necessary
- Proficient at multitasking in a fast paced medical environment
- Solid knowledge of health insurance plans, verification processes, and prior authorizations
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Strong attention to detail in documentation and data entry
- Well organized, reliable, and proactive
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively within a team
- Bilingual a plus given our patient mix
Job Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming and professional environment at the front desk and reception area
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, manage the overall clinic schedule, and return voicemails the same day
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain prior authorizations for procedures and treatments
- Collect all patient balances due at the time of check in with a pleasant but firm approach
- Actively manage no shows, cancellations, and waitlist to keep the schedule optimized
- Collect and accurately enter all patient demographic and insurance data into our EHR (Tebra)
- Assist clinical staff with referrals, prior authorizations, and other administrative support as needed
- Maintain regular attendance, adhere to the assigned schedule, and keep front office supplies stocked
- Perform general office duties: copying, faxing, scanning, filing, mail sorting, and light cleaning as needed
- Keep the front office neat, organized, and fully operational
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Must pass a post-offer/pre-employment background check and drug test.
