Senior Director of Municipality Analytics & Compliance

Position Overview
The Senior Director of Grant Analytics & Compliance is a strategic, senior-level leader responsible for ensuring the organization maximizes, manages, and protects its grant-funded revenue - particularly from complex federal, state, and local government grants. This role oversees the full lifecycle of grant compliance, reporting, data integrity, and resource allocation, ensuring that all grant‑funded activities are aligned with organizational priorities and executed with precision.
This leader brings a strong analytical mindset, exceptional project‑management skills, and deep knowledge of federal grant regulations. They will supervise the Grants Manager and may oversee a Research & Evaluation team member as the department grows. The role may also oversee payroll allocation processes to ensure accurate charging of staff time to grant budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Strategy, Analytics & Compliance
- Lead the organization’s grant compliance framework, ensuring adherence to federal Uniform Guidance, state requirements, and funder‑specific regulations.
- Oversee all grant reporting, including narrative, financial, and performance reports to government agencies and private funders.
- Develop systems to track grant performance, spending, deliverables, and risk indicators.
- Conduct analytical reviews of grant budgets, forecasts, and spending patterns to ensure alignment with program goals and compliance requirements.
Project & Resource Management
- Oversee staff allocation to grants, ensuring accurate time‑tracking, payroll allocations, and cost‑charging practices.
- Partner with Finance and HR to ensure payroll processes accurately reflect grant funding requirements.
- Build project‑management systems that ensure the timely submission of reports, renewals, and compliance documentation.
Team Leadership
- Supervise the Grants Manager and provide leadership to additional research or compliance staff as the team expands.
- Build a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the grants function.
- Provide training and support to program and administrative staff on grant compliance, reporting expectations, and documentation standards.
Cross‑Department Collaboration
- Work closely with Program leadership to ensure grant deliverables are met and data is collected accurately.
- Partner with Finance to reconcile grant budgets, spending, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Executive Leadership to identify new funding opportunities and assess organizational capacity for new grants.
Systems, Data & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain grant‑tracking systems, dashboards, and compliance tools.
- Strengthen internal controls related to grant management, documentation, and reporting.
- Lead internal audits and prepare for external monitoring visits or federal reviews.
Qualifications
- Senior‑level experience in grant management, compliance, or financial oversight, preferably in a nonprofit or government‑funded environment.
- Strong understanding of federal Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and government grant regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex reporting requirements and multi‑funded programs.
- Power BI proficiency required.
- Experience supervising staff and building high‑performing teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project‑management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

Work Environment
This position is on‑site, Monday–Friday, and works closely with staff across departments. The Senior Director will spend the majority of their time in an office setting, with occasional visits to Club sites or meetings with municipal partners. The role requires consistent in‑person collaboration to support accurate reporting, compliance oversight, and cross‑team coordination.
