What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Piano Teacher position at Belleville Piano Studio?
You will have the ability to set your own schedule however, we are looking for an individual who can teach Monday through Friday, after 5pm and/or weekends. Using the studio curriculums is required.
Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required. You must be able to play piano. Other instruments or Voice is a bonus.
Position pays $15 per 30 minute lesson travel fee (if applicable) and is paid as 1099.
All registrations, payments, fees, and recitals are handled by the studio.
Overview

Responsibilities
- Travel to the homes of the students in the Belleville and surrounding area.
- If able, provide lessons out of your home either in person or virtually
- Implement comprehensive piano curricula tailored to individual student needs, skill levels, and learning styles
- Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate technical skills, music theory, sight-reading, and expressive playing
- Manage lesson dynamics effectively to ensure a respectful, motivating, and productive environment
- Provide additional support to students requiring extra assistance or specialized instruction
- Incorporate diverse teaching methods including lesson planning, performance preparation, and creative exercises
- Track student progress regularly and communicate feedback to students and parents or guardians when appropriate
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, music theory, and performance techniques
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate learners of all ages
- Experience working with children, early childhood education, preschoolers, or special education is highly desirable
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for adult learners or those with unique learning needs
