What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Mobile Engineer position at Belle?
App Engineer — Belle Health
Salt Lake City, UT (hybrid: 1 day in office) | Full-time
Build the best app in telehealth.
Belle Health is a telehealth company serving thousands of patients across weight loss (GLP-1s) and an expanding line of longevity and peptide programs. We're profitable, growing fast, and we’re building more and more of our own stack, including an app.
The role
You'll be focused entirely on the Belle mobile app, working directly with our CEO, President, and our head of engineering.
This is not a maintenance job and not a big-team job. You'll own the app end to end: architecture, UI, releases, App Store presence, analytics, iteration speed. You ship, you watch real patients use it, you ship again.
Who we're looking for
- You build with AI as your default workflow. Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent is how you write software every day — not a party trick. You leverage AI to move at a pace that would have taken a team of five two years ago.
- You've shipped real apps. App Store links beat resumes. Side projects, indie apps, startup work — we care that you've taken something from zero to live users, ideally solo or on a tiny team.
- React Native/Expo or Swift, strong TypeScript, comfortable across the stack (our backend is modern JS/Postgres — you'll touch it).
- Scrappy and fast. You default to shipping this week, not spec'ing this quarter. You'd rather put something in front of users and iterate than debate it.
- Local to the Salt Lake City area. This is a hybrid role and will be in-office one day per week.
Why this is a rare seat
- Greenfield app, day-one distribution. Thousands of actively paying patients. Most founding engineers spend a year begging for users. You won't.
- Profitable company, startup speed. We have real revenue and EBITDA discipline — no runway anxiety — but we operate like a startup: small team (~25), no bureaucracy, decisions in hours.
- Your work is the strategy. The app isn't a side project here. Leadership believes the best app in the industry wins the category, and you're the person building it.
- AI-first culture, top to bottom. From clinical operations to marketing to engineering, we build with AI everywhere. You'll never have to justify your tooling.
How to apply
Skip the cover letter. Send us:
- A link to something you've shipped (App Store, TestFlight, or live URL)
- 3–5 sentences on how think about building apps
- Your LinkedIn or GitHub
We move fast — you'll hear back within days, not weeks.
