Compensation:

$162.00 - full day (4 or more hours)

$81.00 - half day (less than 4 hours)

$172.00 - Super Sub full day

$194.00 - Long-Term Substitute Assignments

Nature of Work:

As a substitute teacher at BCCS, you will:

• Manage classroom instruction and routines in the absence of the regular teacher.

• Deliver prepared lesson plans and maintain instructional momentum.

• Support student learning and engagement through effective classroom management strategies.

• Monitor student progress and provide feedback when needed.

• Collaborate and communicate with school staff to ensure a smooth instructional day.

• Adapt quickly to different classrooms, grade levels, and subject areas as needed.

Substitute teachers play a critical role in maintaining educational continuity and creating a positive learning environment for all students.

Required Qualifications:

• A valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license or substitute authorization.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational setting.

• Ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)

• Ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).

• A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.
