A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) implements one-on-one therapy plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to teach skills and reduce challenging behaviors. Key responsibilities include implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based interventions, collecting and recording client data, establishing a therapeutic relationship, and collaborating with the treatment team and families. Key responsibilitiesImplement treatment plans: Execute skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans created by a BCBA, using techniques like positive reinforcement, and teach skills such as communication, social interaction, and self-care.Collect and record data: Accurately document client behavior using methods like A-B-C (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence) data, frequency, duration, and interval-based recording to track progress.Manage behavior: Prompt safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors and fade prompts to promote independence, and increase desired behaviors by providing access to reinforcers.Collaborate with the team: Provide regular progress updates to the BCBA and other treatment team members, and assist with family training on implementing the treatment plan.Maintain a therapeutic relationship: Pair oneself as a source of reinforcement to build a strong therapeutic relationship with the client.Ensure safety: Maintain a safe and positive environment for the client at all times.
