Functions Description
The Specialty Accounts Advisor I serves as a subject matter expert in the establishment, maintenance, and closure of specialized member accounts. This role ensures accuracy and exceptional service delivery while supporting both members and internal teams. The advisor collaborates closely with branch employees and cross-functional departments to facilitate complex account needs and maintain the highest standards of member experience and operational excellence.

Reports to: Director – Retail Branch Specialist
Supervises: None
Contacts: All Bellco employees and members
Qualifications/Requirements
Experience: 4 to 6 years financial institution experience
Skills: Strong understanding of specialty account processes, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent communication and member service skills, with the ability to explain complex account matters clearly and compassionately.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Proficiency in credit union financial systems preferred.
Prior experience in account services, branches, financial operations, or a related role within a financial institution is highly desirable.

Travel to branches and outside vendors.
Working Saturdays required.

Essential Functions
- Demonstrates Bellco’s Act Nice Behaviors and Core Values in all interactions with members, prospective members, and employees in other Bellco departments.
- Establish new and perform maintenance on existing specialty accounts: Conservator, Decedent, Estate, Guardianship, IRA/HSA, Representative Payee, and Trust accounts, including Power of Attorney (POA), Beneficiary/Pay on Death (POD) requests, and funds disbursement.
- Provide guidance and support to members and employees in-person, via phone, and email in alignment with Service Level Agreement (SLA) expectations.
- Facilitate the closure of specialty accounts in accordance with member and employee requests, internal policies, and regulatory/legal requirements.
- Communicate proactively with members and employees to obtain required documentation and ensure timely, accurate account updates per SLA’s.
- Develop a process to prepare, distribute, track receipt of, and archive required documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments on specialty accounts processes, project teams and initiatives.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for specialty accounts.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Signature Medallion Stamp program, offering guidance and support to branch leadership.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and credit union policies.
