Function Description
Serve as a support role between business operations, Information Technology, Information Security and vendors. Key contributor to system improvement initiatives, cross-departmental projects and technology solutions focused on credit union’s member experience, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency objectives. Requires a strong knowledge of the credit union’s core banking system, business process design and data integration. Work with all credit union business units to evaluate system performance, identify process improvement opportunities and support the successful implementation of new products, integrations and upgrades.

Qualifications/Requirements
Education: Minimum – BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science. Professional certifications a plus.
Experience: Minimum - Three years’ proven experience as an IT Specialist or relevant role. Experience with databases, networks and patch management. Knowledge of system security and recovery practices. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Excellent communication skills. Financial institution experience a plus

- Understanding of credit union operations, financial products and member service workflows.
- General knowledge of core banking systems, SQL, APIs and data structures
- Comfortable working with report generation, data extracts and SQL queries.
- Familiar with Agile or hybrid project methodologies and can manage priorities when working with cross-functional teams.
- Can translate between technical and business audiences and be a clear communicator.

Essential Functions
- Demonstrates Bellco’s Act Nice Behaviors and Core Values in all interactions with members, prospective members, and personnel in other Bellco departments.
- Collaborate with business units (e.g., retail banking, lending, operations, member services) to gather, document, and analyze business requirements for systems, processes, and product changes.
- Evaluate current processes and systems (often the credit-union’s core banking system, digital banking, lending platforms, etc.) to identify areas of improvement in efficiency, member experience, risk, cost, or regulatory compliance.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for IT/development teams, including functional requirements, use cases, user stories, data flows, interface and integration needs.
- Work with vendors and internal IT to install (or remove), configure, implement, test, and deliver new or enhanced systems, hardware, peripherals, modules or interfaces (i.e. branch openings and closures, third-party integrations, core platform upgrades, digital banking enhancements).
- Lead, coordinate and/or participate in testing (system test, user acceptance testing) of new functionality, enhancements, upgrades or fixes to ensure quality, align with requirements, and minimize disruption to members and operations.
- Monitor post-implementation performance of systems and processes, document issues, gather feedback, and recommend/implement improvements or corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain documentation (change management, process flows, business requirement documents, technical specifications, training materials, support guides) to support systems usage, ongoing maintenance, and audit/regulatory traceability.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, operational departments, and IT/technical teams – ensuring clear communication of changes, business impact, constraints, risk and priorities to facilitate adoption. Participate in change control meetings, distribute information and gather approvals, as necessary.
- Assist in vendor selection and management (RFPs, vendor evaluation) and ensure vendor-delivered systems meet credit-union requirements, compliance and service standards.
- Monitor vendor updates, user group meetings and new application code to engage the appropriate business unit.
- Manage ticket queue by routing service requests to appropriate skilled analyst (including self) while delivering timely solutions to business units. Document and escalate recurring problems to senior analysts or Business Technology Manager.
- Support data analysis and reporting: develop and maintain reports and data extracts, as requested by business partners, vendors and auditors.
- Help ensure systems and processes comply with credit-union regulatory requirements (e.g., for data integrity, security, audit trails, member privacy) and internal policies.
- Serve as a champion of continuous improvement and innovation: stay current with industry trends (e.g., digital banking and process automation), recommend new technologies or methods to enhance member experience or operational efficiency.
- Provide support for break/fix issues, escalations, triage production problems related to critical systems – often coordinating resolution across teams and ensuring minimal disruption to member services.
- May participate in project planning, timeline/budget estimation, resource coordination and monitor project progress to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
