Production Rig Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Rig Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy equipment and industrial machinery used in production operations. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment functions efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our commitment to operational excellence. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses extensive mechanical knowledge with a passion for hands-on problem solving.

Duties

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery.
• Conduct fabrication and assembly of components using power tools, welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet operational specifications.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, and HVAC units on various equipment models.
• Interpret OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
• Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
• Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, tractor-trailers, or other industrial equipment to assist with maintenance tasks or equipment testing.
• Support tire service, brake repair, wheel alignment, and general vehicle maintenance for fleet vehicles and farm machinery.

Skills

• Extensive dealership experience with heavy equipment repair preferred.
• Proficiency in fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking.
• Strong knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) equipment and other OEM brands.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, and diagnostic testing devices.
• Experience with automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, transmissions, suspension systems, and brake systems.
• Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and proper safety procedures when handling large machinery or components.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems related to industrial equipment maintenance is a plus.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes safely and efficiently.
• Mechanical aptitude combined with strong troubleshooting skills to identify issues quickly.
• Excellent customer service skills when working with internal teams or external clients during repairs or maintenance projects.
