Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Rig Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy equipment and industrial machinery used in production operations. Duties
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery.
- Conduct fabrication and assembly of components using power tools, welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet operational specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, and HVAC units on various equipment models.
- Interpret OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, tractor-trailers, or other industrial equipment to assist with maintenance tasks or equipment testing.
- Support tire service, brake repair, wheel alignment, and general vehicle maintenance for fleet vehicles and farm machinery.
Skills
- Extensive dealership experience with heavy equipment repair preferred.
- Proficiency in fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking.
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) equipment and other OEM brands.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, and diagnostic testing devices.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, transmissions, suspension systems, and brake systems.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and proper safety procedures when handling large machinery or components.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems related to industrial equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes safely and efficiently.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with strong troubleshooting skills to identify issues quickly.
- Excellent customer service skills when working with internal teams or external clients during repairs or maintenance projects.
