Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and walk-in seating requests with efficiency and accuracy
- Coordinate table assignments to optimize seating flow and minimize wait times using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Answer phone inquiries promptly, providing information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant offerings while maintaining proper phone etiquette
- Assist guests with seating arrangements, special requests, and guest relations to enhance their overall experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Support the front-of-house team by communicating effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a busy restaurant setting preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries professionally and courteously
- Experience managing restaurant reservations using systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist management, and guest billing support if needed
- Knowledge of food safety standards and organizational skills to maintain a clean, efficient work environment
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or Aloha POS is a plus
- Ability to stay energetic, positive, and attentive during busy service hours
