We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist/Admin to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical and dental office procedures, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. The Dental Receptionist/Admin will play a vital role in maintaining smooth clinic operations, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting the delivery of quality patient care.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification using systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Athenahealth
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software
- Collect payments and presentation of treatment plans
- Maintain and update patient records within EMR/EHR systems such as Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Epic
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and managing health information securely
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating care plans
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and handle patient inquiries effectively
- Manage filing, documentation review, and general clerical support to ensure smooth office operations
- Support front desk activities including office management tasks like data entry, typing, and use of Microsoft Office tools
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred

- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and insurance billing processes
- Experience with medical collection procedures and health information management practices
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing skills
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Ability to handle administrative support tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and recordkeeping
