Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team. Must be able to operate manual transmission.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to navigate various routes effectively.
The day starts as early as 5:00 am but no (or minimal) overnight travel required.
This position typically gets 60 hours per week. Overtime after 40.
Duties
- Operate and drive various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and cargo delivered.
- Follow designated routes while being flexible to adapt to changing conditions or instructions.
- Utilize manual transmission when required, demonstrating proficiency in truck driving techniques.
- Collaborate with dispatchers to receive instructions and report any issues encountered on the road.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (tanker endorsement is a plus).
- Proven experience in truck driving with a strong understanding of route driving principles.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts for loading/unloading tasks is advantageous.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles effectively.
- Experience with various truck types including flatbed and roll-off trucks preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must pass background checks and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
