Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics.
- Prepare treatment areas with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, Invisalign scans
- Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary and assist with pediatric dental procedures
- Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and managing medical documentation
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and anatomy knowledge for safe practice
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Certification or training in X-ray safety and operation (radiography) preferred
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide compassionate patient care
- Bilingual is a plus
