Lead Inspector Assembly - Amarillo, TX
Bring your experience and ideas and help us produce quality aircraft. You’ll work with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are upheld. This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and subcontractors. You’ll be able to hone your technical abilities, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.
What you’ll be doing as a Lead Inspector Assembly
- The Lead Inspector Assembly is intended to leverage shop floor supervision through extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership abilities. The Lead assumes a leadership role for an assigned work area, be it a fixture, aircraft, or facility Approves acceptable work or rejects all work which fails to meet required standards and recommends corrective action to prevent recurrence.
- Provides direction to inspection crew in developing work assignments while prioritizing work sequence.
- Assists with technical instructions, completion of paperwork, resolution of daily problems inhibiting assembly efforts, while maintaining close coordination with the supervisor regarding status of the aircraft/item in work.
- Rechecks when corrective measures have been completed. In all cases inspectors must have additional training and experience required to handle the more difficult and complicated phases of inspection work.
- Approves acceptable work or rejects all work which fails to meet required standards and recommends corrective action to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications
Skills You Bring To this Role
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years assembly inspection experience plus 1 year aircraft assembly experience.
- Preferred: Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and special alignments.
- Knowledge of electricians and/or mechanics tools.
- Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
- Ability to adhere to and follow the Quality Inspection Manual Process, Amarillo Stamp Awareness Guidelines, and other related policies, procedures, and processes.
- Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.
