Flight Control Systems Engineer: Engineering opportunities are available in the development, integration, and testing of Flight Control Systems and Control Laws. These positions may be located at Bell Helicopter's headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX or the Bell Flight Research Center in Arlington, TX. The Flight Control Systems Engineer is responsible for (but not limited to) the following: * Design and test of Flight Control Systems (FCS) with embedded DO-178 software and DO-254 complex hardware, including Fly-By-Wire Flight Control Systems. * System and software design, requirements management, systems specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, verification and validation testing in desktop simulation environment and systems integration labs, aircraft flight test, and aircraft/system qualification and certification. * Development of systems architecture, redundancy management, electronic hardware design and integration, and actuator design and integration. * Development of air vehicle flight control laws, flight director, navigation, guidance, and autonomous systems control algorithms. Qualifications Education Requirements: * Bachelor of Science Degree is required * Major in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred. * Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering will be considered with sufficient software development experience. * Master's Degree in the Engineering disciplines mentioned above is preferred. Position Requirements: * Experience at all levels will be considered with a minimum of 2 years specific experience with flight controls, software, avionics, or electrical systems integration, development, and testing. * Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems. * Experience with Primary Development Environment: * MathWorks MATLAB / Simulink with Stateflow and Embedded Coder * C/C code * C# test scripts * IBM Rational DOORS * Serena Dimensions / PVCS * Git * Mentor Graphics Capital Harness System * Ability to obtain U.S. D.O.D Secret Clearance Textron Relocation Assistance policy is in effect / applies for this position for candidates who qualify.
