Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs, offering product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits
- Operate the cash register (POS system) efficiently for retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and managing cash drawer operations
- Identify customer needs and recommending additional items to enhance their shopping experience
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean, well-maintained, and visually appealing through effective merchandising techniques
- Conduct retail math calculations accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory management
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and maintaining positive communication with shoppers both in person and over the phone following proper phone etiquette
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking supplies, monitoring product levels, and participating in periodic stock counts
Requirements
- Previous experience with POS systems and retail sales transactions is preferred
- Supervising experience or leadership roles in retail environments are a plus
- Ability to demonstrate products effectively through demos to engage customers
- Strong communication skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
- Basic math skills for handling cash register operations, retail math calculations, and balancing cash drawers accurately
- Prior experience in cashiering or retail environments is beneficial but not required
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift merchandise as needed, and work flexible hours including weekends and some holidays. Availability for November/December shifts during peak holiday shopping days are required.
Pay: From $16.90 per hour
