This role is fully onsite in both Fort Worth, TX headquarters and the Classified SIL in Arlington, TX with occasional travel to other facilities based on business needs.
Cyber Security
Bring your experience to become a cyber test engineer and be responsible for adversarial, verification and certification of aircraft systems and components for test and evaluation of manned and optionally manned aircraft. You’ll work with test pilots, design engineers and simulation lab engineers to develop and implement test scenarios, test procedures and test plans that will improve aircraft security using advanced cyber tools and benches. This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and subcontractors. This includes embedded avionics hardware/software, real‑time operating systems (RTOS), firmware, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) / software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) test environments. You’ll be able to hone your technical abilities on significant engineering problems, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.

What you’ll be doing as a Cybersecurity Test Engineer
- Take part in the organization, planning, and management of new and existing aircraft to conduct cyber testing to meet customer defined requirements supporting aircraft qualification, security assessments, requirements validation and penetration testing.
- Plan, design, and execute HIL/SIL cyber test campaigns; develop manual and automated test suites and Python‑based scripts to enable repeatable, scalable security test coverage across integration and regression cycles.
- Build and integrate custom tools, tests, and research test equipment provide cutting edge testing to aircraft systems and sensors.
- Instrument and operate bus analyzers and traffic generators.
- Develop and execute cybersecurity test procedures based on program test plans for future and existing aircraft systems.
- Support new aircraft and technology development as well as proprietary adversarial testing tools and techniques.
- Create detailed diagrams of data interfaces for Ethernet, serial and various avionics bus protocols and support throughout the entire software development life cycle from requirements definition to product deployment.
- Support test planning and coordination with the customer in the execution of engineering design milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical degree field.
- At least 2 years experience in any combination of the following:
- Penetration or adversarial testing, cyber threat analysis, vulnerability detection / exploitation, adversarial attack development, and system exploitation on physical network architectures.
- Traditional IEEE (802.1, 802.11 and 802.3) AND non-traditional (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, AFDX and 802.1DP) bus analysis and testing.
- Embedded avionics systems (RTOS, bare‑metal firmware, device drivers) and secure development for safety‑critical platforms.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD secret clearance.
- Skilled in developing new attack techniques, methods and implementing custom exploits and exploitation tools in support of penetration tests or cyber threat emulation exercises, preferred
- Background in testing of embedded systems (bus exploitation, firmware reverse engineering, secure boot assessment, memory protection evaluation), preferred
- Knowledge of secure coding practices for C/C , preferred
- Ability to provide subject matter expertise support in the detection, analysis, and mitigation of malware, trends in malware development and capabilities, and proficiency with malware analysis capabilities, preferred
- You’ll be off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule
